Frank Dunn Magician began his interest in magic at age 5 years old in 1975 buying his first magic trick “David Coppperfield’s disappearing handkerchief.” At age 10 Frank performed his first magic show for View Ridge Elementary School in Everett, Washington where he attended school. Frank started out as a clown magician where he mixed comedy with magic. Soon after that he began performing for Birthday parties. In 1983 he performed for the Everett Herald Newspaper company picnic at age 13. This was the springboard for corporate magic shows like Hewlett and Packard, Burger King, Starbucks Coffee, Dwayne Lanes Dodge, to name a few. He became a familiar name in the Northwest from Olympia to Bellingham with many shows in Seattle, Washington. He amazed audiences of all ages from the Boy Scouts to Retirement homes. Audiences invited him back year after year because of his ability to engage the audience with his magic show through humor, “When you are responsible for entertainment for your company of 124 employees or more, you want an entertainer that will not embarrass you in front of your coworkers and boss. Frank Dunn Magician year after year never let us down. He adjusted his show to our needs and always made us laugh and of course amazed us with his magical talent,” said Shelly Preston, of Swinomish Tribe, Washington.
Frank Dunn went off to college in North Carolina in 1989 and continued to perform while going to school. He lived on the Cherokee Reservation with his grandparents. This is where he fine tuned his close-up magic and mingle magic. Frank is talented in coin magic and card magic with dexterity of his hands. In 1992 Mr. Dunn returned to Everett, Washington and finished school while performing at Red Lobster. Frank has a degree from Western Washington University in Psychology with an emphasis in Human Services. This is evident in his performance in how he relates to his audiences. His academic background influences his volunteer magic shows in the community. For example, he has volunteered his magic show for the following: Boys and Girls Club, Big Brother Big Sister bowling, Juvenile Delinquent Center, Headstart program, Boy Scoots, Local Church fundraisers, YoungLife, Battered Woman Shelter, Foster Care Christmas Party in King County, again to name only a few.
Frank Dunn Magician recently has been working on a stage show of illusions that are mixed culturally with Native American Art work. He was invited to his tribe this last summer to perform on stage in front of 3,000 people, for the Cherokee Indian Festival. Frank Dunn is a tribally enrolled Cherokee Indian with the Eastern Band of Indians. However, his heart is with the Swinomish Tribal Community Reservation in La Conner Washington where he spends most of his time when not performing.
